Our Ambassadors
These birds are not adoptable, they are permanent residence at Nana & Papas Nest.
While serving as ambassadors, they attend various events throughout the year, helping to educate both children and adults about responsible parrot care. In some cases, it’s the very first time someone has ever held a parrot, making it a truly memorable experience.

Meet Cuddles
Cuddles is a beautiful Moluccan Cockatoo who joined Nana & Papa’s Nest in 2024. His journey to us is both heartbreaking and inspiring. After his previous home was tragically lost in a house fire, Cuddles was surrendered to a wildlife rescue by his loving owner, who wanted to ensure he received the care he needed. The rescue then reached out to us for help.
When Cuddles arrived, he was covered in soot and struggling with feather plucking on his chest. It took several soothing baths to restore his bright, peachy feathers and multiple vet visits to address his plucking issues. Today, Cuddles wears a special “sock” to protect his feathers and receives monthly treatments to keep him healthy and comfortable.
Because of his ongoing care needs, Cuddles will remain a lifelong resident at Nana & Papa’s Nest, where he serves as one of our Ambassador Birds. He helps educate both children and adults about parrot care, rehabilitation, and responsible ownership.
Cuddles is a fan favorite at events—he loves attention, adores meeting new people, and will happily step up for almost anyone. His gentle spirit and resilience make him a wonderful example of hope and healing.
As a lifelong resident at Nana & Papa’s Nest — he will be surrounded by love, attention, and plenty of head scratches. 💕

MEMORIAL MEMORIES

Skid Row Skid Row came in with a poor prognosis on June 19, 2019. Named as he was a transfer from a local animal shelter, and if we didn't take him in as a transfer, he was to be euthanized. We were told he was found in the backyard of the person who brought him into the animal shelter. When we received Skid Row, his beak was extremely long and he was underweight. We had no history or age on Skid Row. Upon six (6) beak trimmings, the beak was normal for a cockatiel. |
